McHenry County Democratic Women present Power of The Purse, featuring keynote speaker, our very own, the most amazing Congresswoman Lauren Underwood.
It’s from 11am to 2pm on Saturday November 4th, at the Blackstone Golf Club, 9700 St. Andrews Drive in Marengo.
Money is power, and power is very difficult to access without money. Women are often at a disadvantage when running for office because of the gender gap in resources available to them. McHenry County Democratic Women aim to change that.
Join us for a fun and inspirational afternoon raising critical funds for local Democratic women candidates running in 2024’s critical election.
We will get inspired by our keynote speaker, US Congresswoman Lauren Underwood (D-14). She is the first woman, the first person of color, and the first millennial to represent her community in Congress. Congresswoman Underwood flipped this seat from red to blue in a historic fashion in 2018, defeating a four-term Republican incumbent. Her District included parts of McHenry County at that time, and we will always consider her our representative too!
There will be time to enjoy small plates, the cash bar, and browse an amazing collection of bags of all types – all available to win in our Purse Raffle. Sneak preview of purses to come.
