March with McHenry Dems in the Crystal Lake Independence Day Parade
Please join our Democratic Party of McHenry County contingent in the Crystal Lake Independence Day Parade on Sunday, July 2nd. It’s always fun, and it’s really important that we have a sizable group. It helps people see that it’s okay to be publicly known as a Democrat, and be willing to join us. As the saying goes: “Gay people came out — trans people came out — we Dems need to come out too!” We always get a positive reaction from the crowds watching along the route.
Assemble at noon in the large lot behind the Crystal Lake Municipal Complex at 100 West Woodstock Street, just west of downtown. The parade steps off at 1:00 pm and proceeds down Dole Avenue towards the Dole Mansion.
There’s plenty of parking in the Metra lots near the assembly point, and it’s always a good idea to position a car near the ending point in the parking lots for South Elementary School at 601 Golf Road or Lundahl Middle School at 560 Nash Road, so you can ferry people back to the starting point.
The parade is sponsored by the Crystal Lake Chamber of Commerce. See you on July 2nd. A glorious summer day is guaranteed.
