March with McHenry Dems in the Algonquin Founders Day Parade
Please join our Democratic Party of McHenry County contingent in the Algonquin Founders Day Parade on Saturday, July 22nd. It’s always fun, and it’s really important that we have a sizable group. It helps people see that it’s okay to be publicly known as a Democrat, and be willing to join us. As the saying goes: “Gay people came out — trans people came out — we Dems need to come out too!” We always get a positive reaction from the crowds watching along the route.
Assemble around 10am near the corner of Eastgate and Algonquin Road — you can find the assembly area either from Longwood or Hubbard. The parade steps off at 11:00 am and proceeds west along Algonquin Road, then turns south on Main Street and finishes at Madison Street.
The parade is sponsored by the Algonquin Founders Day Committee — see the full schedule of events here, and get detailed info about the parade here. See you on July 22nd. A glorious summer day is guaranteed.
