Forum on the Mental Health Board Referendum

Please join the League of Women Voters of McHenry County for a forum on the upcoming referendum regarding the funding of our county’s Mental Health Board. The forum is sponsored together with McHenry County College.

Panelists will include members of the McHenry County Board Carolyn Campbell and Michael Skala, and Suzanne Hoban, executive director of Family Health Partnership.

The event will be at 7:00 pm on Thursday, February 22, 2024.  Attend in-person in the Luecht Auditorium of McHenry County College.  Or watch the livestream on Facebook.

The voters of McHenry County will weigh in on this question at the primary election on March 19, 2024. If the referendum passes, the portion of property tax which funds the Mental Health Board will be replaced by a 0.25% sales tax (with certain exclusions, for example food you purchase at the grocery store, medicine or medical equipment.)

If attending in person, MCC is at 8900 Northwest Highway (Route 14), halfway between Woodstock and Crystal Lake. The Luecht Auditorium is in Building B.  Park on the south side – the Luecht Auditorium has a clearly marked entrance.
