Wear Orange Rally: Gun Violence Awareness Day

June 3, 2023 @ 12:00 pm - 1:30 pm

The tragedy of senseless gun violence in America keeps getting worse, as Republican politicians stoke fear and hysteria and remain indifferent to the lives lost and ruined and the horrors experienced by survivors, families,  bystanders, police and first responders.

Please join Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America for Wear Orange:  National Gun Violence Awareness Day.  Wear Orange is a time for everyone in our community to come together to show our collective power in addressing gun violence.

It’s all happening at 12:00 noon on Saturday, June 3rd, on the north side of Northwest Highway (US Route 14) by the Binny’s in Crystal Lake.  Please click here to RSVP.

When Chicago high school student Hadiya Pendleton was shot and killed in 2013, her friends turned their grief into action and wore orange to raise awareness about gun violence prevention.  On the first weekend in June, we’ll honor all lives taken and wounded by gun violence as part of National Gun Violence Awareness Day. We’ll continue to turn Illinois orange as we bring together all members of our community to show our solidarity as we stand together to prevent gun violence.

Join us in front of the Binny’s in Crystal Lake at Noon on Saturday, June 3, where we will rally together, mothers, others, and children (kid-friendly event) to show our power. Please park in the outer parking spaces (to the east of Binny’s, not in front of it), wear orange, and bring signs of remembrance for those lost to gun violence.
